It's still an emergency brake, or a hand brake. A foot feed must be
something they use for hogs in Iowa. You guys are thinking of the gas
pedal. 'Step on the gas!' can't be a British expression; what about just
'Step on it!' as an exhortation to cabbies, etc.?
