What are "fender skirts"? What are "curb feelers"?


Fender skirts were pieces of metal that were placed on the side of car fenders to cover the opening to the tires. Supposedly, they looked cool. Curb feelers were wire-like pieces metal about six inches long and attached to the passenger side at the base of the car. When parking, they made a scrapping sound against the curb so one knew one was close enough.
