Interesting article from the WashPost about blogs vs. the media. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A20056-2005Feb12.html The Ward Churchill story is also being discussed/dissected in blogs. Here in SV, the guy who was blogging from Google got fired after only two weeks on the job; Google fired him because he was blogging about Google. One of Google's main products is... blogger.com. The New Yorker also wrote an essay about media and blogs. The mainstream media (aka MSM) is under heavy fire from all sides. Whatever they published is furiously attacked and discredited. The MSM is also getting the feeling that nobody really cares anymore about them. Journalism is becoming irrelevant. The MSM editors and reporters don't seem to realize they brought this on themselves; by publishing only from the point of view of corps that own them or advertise in them, they lost their credibility as objective reporters. The low point was the lack of reporting on the false justification for the war and then participating as "embedded" journalists. These are fascinating times. yrs, andreas www.andreas.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
