Yes it is a beautiful plant. But even uk.rec.gardening doesn't know

search for more information, "D pectinoides" is the best way)

Or both: a plant that apparently bears the English name Pillowfight
(or perhaps Pillow Fight)- Dischidia pectinoides. Does anyone have
any recommendations on how to best keep one (soil, watering, light
conditions, etc.)? We've received conflicting recommendations from
the florist and local botanical garden, and our 'specimen' is
struggling (perhaps with itself at night? - see English name) ….
Thanks - I'll look that up.
I'm also forgetting that I am now - as of early June - a proud member
of the Royal Horticultural Socierty and as such can call them, with my
plant questions. Due to the current state of 'deregulation' of the
telecommunications industry here in German it is at certain times of
the day cheaper to call the UK and even North America than someone here
in town. Isn't increased competition wonderful?
We also have three or four people a day trying to find our house (even
when all is addressed correctly) rather than the one employee of
Deutsche Post who knows where we are even when the mail sports the most
bizarre variations of our address. Of course, eventually Deutsche Post
will have to cut services (even further - since it has been privatized
there has been a marked decline) in order to compete with the reduced
rates (noticeable only to those mailing hundreds of items a day) these
new companies are offering. The employees will be forced to take pay
cuts or lose their jobs and be hired by these new 'more efficient'
firms at a much lower rate of pay, job security, etc., etc. Isn't
capitalism grand?
