Data, please. Given all of the horrendous stories in the news about how the Army, in particular, is scraping the bottom of the barrel in its recruitment efforts and young military academy graduate officers are not re-upping at record rates, this seems unlikely.

Not to mention, of course, the draftees who fought WWII and seem to
have done pretty well.
