Those kids weren't buying Southeast Asian or Mexican jeans.  They were
buying the American imprimatur, the American myth, wherever it's
manufactured.

Well... Good ol' Levi-Strauss, the running dogs of imperialism, is down on
their luck. The company is in serious problems.

Banana Republic (a wonderfully ironic name), Gap, and Old Navy (all are
actually the same company) have clobbered Levis out of the market.

Street fashion is set these days in Tokyo.
