If you've not seen it yet, read the "Downing Street Memo". This is the highly
classified
minutes of a meeting between Blair and his top government officials before the
start of the
Iraq War. The British discuss that the Bush White House was "fixing the
intelligence", had
already decided on war, and the only issue was how to lie to the public to
convince them to
go along. They also all knew there was no post-war planning.

In those days, Bush lied to Congress and the American people about the war.
They knew Iraq
was not a threat, that it had WMDs but the amounts were insignificant, and
there was no
legal justification for the war.

The New York Review of Books has a good analysis of the memo.

No major US newspaper has printed this memo.
