Hey, I'm insulted. Mistaking me for G.I. Joe is one thing. But Raggedy Andy?
Actually, maybe you're right. I never did introduce myself. My name is
Andrew, the age is 56, the SO status is divorced and loving it, grown kids.
Copywriter. 5'11", 165 pounds. Thanks for asking but I didn't know a strip
tease was part of joining this list.

Andy

Subject: [lit-ideas] Is Andy Subscribed? (Was: Ricoeur)

In a message dated 4/29/2004 1:04:46 AM Eastern Standard Time,

'andy amago' may, for all I
know, be a fictitious name, with no real referent), and further, for all I
know,
he may have 'subscribed' under duress, which would make his contract with
freelists.org null and void, allowing for the possibility that he is not
really
subscribed after all.
Note that R. Paul deduces (or 'infers' as he'd correct me) that 'any amago'
would have a _male_ referent. On the phone /'andi/ is pretty gender (or sex, as
Geary would correct me) neutral (cf. "Andie McDowell", or "MacDowell" as
McEvoy would correct me). In any case, trying to see if there is some info on
some
_female_ 'Andy' online I come across this below. Funny.
Cheers,

J L

"Andy is a nine-year-old girl who doesn't want to grow up to be a woman. When
she talks of the sea and how she remembers her mother loving it and how much
she hated it is a clue that she prefers to be a "boy"."
