Here's a bit that I just fired off to my hometown media in Southeastern
Virginia.

====

How did the Bush-Kerry debates play overseas? In Japan, this morning's
Asahi Shimbun, carried the following headlines.

"War of Words Concerning Terror and Iraq."
"America safer, says Bush."
"War was a colossal mistake, says Kerry"
"Post-debate polls show Kerry the winner."

Pretty accurate, I'd say. Kerry was calm, collected, and in full
command of the facts, just what I want in a President. Bush was unable
to respond with anything except canned campaign lines. Intelligence
confronted an obstinate parrot, and intelligence won.
