Ah, so you allow seasonal workers? I didn't know that. Is "British based
worker" your code for that? Well, that should make it easier for you to
get rid of them, if you could get the Guardian to tell you who he is. Just
revoke his "green card" or whatever he uses over there.

John Walker Lindh was born in America so we put him in jail. Wikipedia
says, "He is now serving a 20-year prison sentence in connection with his
participation in Afghanistan's Taliban army." Good on you, John Walker
Lindh.

But over there in Jolly Old I have the impression you would find that cruel
and unusual punishment -- if you punished him at all -- unless you caught
him in the act; which sounds fairly difficult.

But he is still a British cab driver if he drives a cab in East London,
isn't he? Surely you wouldn't call him an Afghani cab driver -- or would
you?

No, we don't distinguish between our citizens. Hence my belief that someone
the Guardian calls "British based", whose brother is said to "live in London
too", who says "I make good money *there* (UK)...but these are my friends
and my family" is not British.

Certainly there are suspicions that British citizens fight for the Taliban.
But, the Guardian piece says, the last Western insurgent fighter
successfully captured by the US, way back in 2003, was John Walker Lindh.

What, you distinguish amongst your citizens? I thought that was forbidden.
Aren't they all British now, even though they might have been born in
Afghanistan, Pakistan or someplace else? Over here we are all Americans
once we become citizens -- where we were born is irrelevant.

In my case my ancestors were all from England and Scotland albeit many
generations ago, and while I am a loyal American now I would hate to see the
homeland of my ancestors reduced to full-fledged dhimmitude.

He's an Afghani, Lawrence, that's why he said his frtiends and family are
there and -- he said -- that's why he's fighting there.

Happy Thansgiving

How can I have a happy Thanksgiving when British cab drivers are killing
Brits, Americans, and other NATO forces in Afghanistan?
