Finally. All this time I've been working against myself in trying to get my Linux box to act as a router for an internal subnet, as I now have three Windows boxes running. After all the hassles & hair pulling, I'd realised I didn't have routed running -- didn't even have it installed. Now, after installing it & reading the man file, then reconfiguring the W98 box on my desk, I'm successfully routing packets on a single nic in the Linux box between the two networks. Now I have to figure out samba so I can stream my mp3's to the W98 box (better sound on the W98 box & more hard drive space on the Linux box;-). Thanks to those who'd helped.
