Hello,
I am from ViewPlus technologies, and we are testing liblouis3.0.0. I have some
questions regarding the translation of single letters using English American
(en-us-g1.ctb), English British (en-gb-g1.utb) and UEB tables (en-ueb-g1.ctb).
The testing sentences I use are:
This is a test.
This is b house.
This is house b.
House D is right around corner.
Tom and I went to see a movie.
“Z!”, he called out.
For en-us-g1.ctb, a dot pattern 56 is inserted before either the single letter,
or before the cap sign (6) of the single letter (a, b, D, I, Z), if such letter
is followed by one or more words.
a --> 56-1
b --> 56-12 (This is b house)
b --> 12 ( This is house b.)
D --> 56-6-145
I --> 56-6-24
Z --> 56-6-1356
For en-gb-g1.utb, such dot pattern is inserted before b, D, Z
a --> 1
b --> 56-12 (This is b house)
b --> 56-12 ( this is house b.)
D --> 56-6-145
I --> 6-24
Z --> 56-6-1356
For UEB (en-ueb-g1.ctb), no such dot pattern is inserted before any single
letter, but the whole translated sentence is enclosed in a pair of 1-46-126 and
46-345 dot patterns.
a --> 1
b --> 12 (This is b house)
b --> 12 ( this is house b.)
D --> 6-145
I --> 6-24
Z --> 6-1356
It looks a bug to me to have an additional dot pattern 56 before a single
letter. I am also wondering why UEB translation encloses every sentences above
in a pair of dot patterns. Is that a desired behavior or is it a bug?
Thanks!
Yuemei
