Lars,
One way to handle this would be to make up a little table with a line
like
correct "\s" "."
Then put the filename of this table after that of your main table in a
table list. Your semantic-action file would have something like
changetable phone,table
and your document would have
<phone table="xxx,yyy">phone number</phone>
