Doug inspired me, and I started taking wildlife shots with a 180 Elmar. And I've got some great bird shots with the 80~200 Vari Elmar that replaced it.

Now, I've added a 400/f6.8 Telyt with 2x extender to the mix, and I must admit that it *really* helps to get in close. But, it CAN be done with the lenses you have. You just need patience.

Since I've attempted to follow Doug's lead, I have enjoyed my photography more than ever, even when the shots don't turn out as I'd hoped. :)
