You are probably right, Steve, but I think I will hang in there a bit longer just to see what the R10 actually flushes out to be. I will putter along with my Canon, which is even more of a PITA than the Nikon would be due to the exposure problems. Most of what I shoot is static so I can take my time (as much as my wife can stand) and go through the ritual. If I need faster performance, I just put on my Sigma 17-70 which is really a pretty good performer for what it cost. It was a great deal better than the POC lens that came with the camera, or even the USM Canon lenses according what I have read. I am sure L glass is better, but that was not my purpose in buying the camera.
