Noel, You should mount a Canon AF lens on the body to confirm mirror box issues. Also, with the lens adapter, try using a Leica lens of longer focal length (even a 35 or 50 will do fine). Many of the wide angle R lenses protrude far back and will interfere with the mirror action when shooting.
