[LRflex] Exposure Issue with Leica R7?

Hello,
I am getting some unpleasant exposure results with my R7 and I don't
know if it is my inexperience or something to do with the camera. I use
P mode often and maybe it's just not suitable where there is strong back
light.
The other possibility is that the leds on the right are displaying two
aperture modes when I take the shot, eg, f2.8 and f4.0 lit up. The
manual instructs to change the shutter speed dial until only one
aperture reading displays, I have largely ignored this. Anyway I get
two or three shots like this in a role and the only pattern I can see is
the scene has bright lighting in the background.
Here is an example. Maybe someone has experienced this, I'm hoping it
is operator error.
