Hi Pang Jin! Sorry for not replying earlier, but I'm travelling and this is the first chance in a week to read my email. I own the original 2x converter for the SL. I had a chance to borrow a non-apo converter for the R series. No appreciable differences noted, with several lenses. (The original SL was sharper with certain lenses, the non-apo for the R was sharper with others... nothing significant, either way.) Then I bought the 400 f6.8 Telyt and found that this lens, with the 2x, gave some noticeable vignetting in the corners. At the recent LHSA Spring Shoot, here in Victoria, I had the chance to borrow an APO-2x from Leica's PRO-Pool. I tried it on the 400 and found that there is virtually no vignetting with this lens. Otherwise, I could see little significant difference between any of the converters - other than the lingages for auto-aperture with the 'R' models. Hope this helps! Best Regards, David.
