Douglas pointed you recently to a free mono conversion package for Windoze. Sadly it didn't work with Macs. However, I've found an excellent (and reasonably priced) mono plug-in filter called BWStyler which works fine with Macs - there's a Windoze version too. Its virtues are that it's very intuitive, can emulate the qualities of most types of b/w film, and also b/w papers. Results look a lot better than going the grayscale route in PS.I'm still playing with it, but like the first results very much. http://www.thepluginsite.com/products/photowiz/index.htm
G'Mornin' Alex & Xavier!Looks good, Alex. Even better, under Windoze (which Xavier uses) the PhotoWiz plugins work with Corel Paint Shop Pro (Version 10 and higher) and Corel PhotoPaint (Version 9 and higher). Since Xavier (who started this thread) is using Corel Paint Shop Pro XI, he should be able to use the plugins!
Xavier: Why don't you try the free demo version of BWStyler and see how it works for you? Alex sent me a converted shot (with colour original, for comparison) by private mail, and the results look pretty good!
A detailed web search might yield other plug-ins which will work with PS-Pro XI, too!
