FYI, Not sure which of the LANUG members already receive the emails from the
Fort Walton group. Thought you would like to know they will be having a
Windows Phone 7 Garage. LANUG is planning for one as well, just don't have
the logistics yet.

Greetings all!

Our fearless president Kevin has taken a reprieve from his duties for the
next few weeks and left me at the helm for this month’s meeting. For those
of you I have not met, my name is Bryan Soltis and I am a Senior Software
Engineer at Bit-Wizards and a veteran speaker to the Gulf Coast .NET Users
Group. I showed up so many times they decided to make me Vice President,
which just means the same work with even less money than Kevin gets.

There’s a lot of announcements in this months’ newsletter so get ready!

July 2011 Meeting Information

Our next meeting will be *Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM*.
Mike Whalen, Lead Web Designer at Bit-Wizards, will be providing an
introduction to the jQuery library. Mike is an Addy award winning designer
and has created many dynamic, captivating sites using jQuery, .NET, and
other web development technologies. Mike will cover the basics of jQuery,
implementation, as well some advanced areas and techniques. If you are doing
any web development these days you won’t want to miss it!

July 2011 Windows Phone Garage

The great Joe Healy (Microsoft Developer Evangelist) will be coming up at
the end of July to hold a Windows Phone Garage for the Panhandle area on
July 28, 2011. Details are still in the works, but the tentative plan is to
hold a full 8 hour garage at the Bit-Wizards office where Joe will lay down
some serious Windows Phone skills. Be sure to make it to the session to see
all the great advancements in the Windows Phone 7 platform and learn how to
get started developing your applications from one of the best in the field.
We will be sending out more information as it becomes available!

Gulf Coast .NET Users Group Windows Phone 7 App

Do you want to know about upcoming user group meetings on your Windows
Phone? Mike has also created the Gulf Coast .NET Users Group Windows Phone
app. The application is available for free in the Windows Phone Marketplace
and provides the latest meeting and contact information. Be sure to ask Mike
about the app and his experience developing for the Windows Phone 7
