Subject: [Klamath County Fire Defense Board] Tragic Loss
It is with great sadness that I share this news. Dylan Wheat passed away
unexpectedly January 6. Dylan was a dispatcher with our agency for the last
two years, as well as a Klamath Falls PD explorer and Reserve Officer. His
father was a Klamath County SO deputy both in the Jail as well as patrol before
taking a position at KFPD where he is currently a Patrol Sergeant.
The family has requested privacy, KFPD, KCSO and our Agency will be receiving
and coordinating the forwarding any condolences, flowers etc. Our address is
listed below, feel free to address anything for the family to my attention and
I will make sure that it is forwarded to them.
Additionally, a go-fund-me page has been set up to assist the family during
this difficult time.

Our staff is clearly shaken by this tragedy, and yet like dispatchers do, we
are rallying together. We are coordinating with our public safety neighbors,
taking the steps to begin the healing process, and calling on some old friends
for support. We know the healing process will be a long one.
We ask you to keep our center and community in your thoughts and prayers.
