It is with great sadness that I share this news. Dylan Wheat passed away
unexpectedly January 6. Dylan was a dispatcher with our agency for the last
two years, as well as a Klamath Falls PD explorer and Reserve Officer. His
father was a Klamath County SO deputy both in the Jail as well as patrol
before taking a position at KFPD where he is currently a Patrol Sergeant.
The family has requested privacy, KFPD, KCSO and our Agency will be
receiving and coordinating the forwarding any condolences, flowers etc. Our

attention and I will make sure that it is forwarded to them.

Our staff is clearly shaken by this tragedy, and yet like dispatchers do, we
are rallying together. We are coordinating with our public safety
neighbors, taking the steps to begin the healing process, and calling on
some old friends for support. We know the healing process will be a long
one.
