Medienbericht: Winterkorn will vier Markengruppen
Einem Bericht des "Handelsblatts" zufolge steht der Volkswagen-Konzern vor
einem massiven Umbau. Demnach will Vorstandschef Martin Winterkorn die zwölf
Marken des Unternehmens in vier Gruppen zusammenfassen: Audi mit Lamborghini
und Ducati, VW-Pkw mit Skoda und Seat, Scania mit MAN und VW-Nutzfahrzeuge
sowie Porsche mit Bugatti und Bentley. Die Marken sollen außerdem künftig mehr
Eigenständigkeit gegenüber der Zentrale haben. So sollen sie etwa selbst
entscheiden dürfen, welche Autos sie in welchen Märkten anbieten. Jede der vier

GM tut sich mit Isuzu zusammen
General Motors will im kommenden Jahr wieder in den Markt für mittelschwere Lkw
einsteigen. Der japanische Lastwagenhersteller Isuzu Motors soll dazu Fahrzeuge
für die Marke Chevrolet liefern, sagten mit der Angelegenheit vertraute
Personen. Die Unternehmen dürften bald eine entsprechende Bekanntgabe machen,
so die Quellen weiter. Die langjährigen Partner haben bereits in der
Vergangenheit gemeinsam Lkw wie den Pickup Chevy Colorado entwickelt, der von

Tata und Fiat-Chrysler erwägen gemeinsame SUV-Produktion
Fiat Chrysler und Tata Motors denken offenbar über eine gemeinsame
SUV-Produktion in Indien nach. Laut einem Bericht der "Economic Times" wollen
die beiden Autobauer knapp 470 Millionen Dollar in eine Fertigungslinie mit
einer Produktionskapazität von 100.000 Einheiten pro Jahr investieren. Die
gemeinsame Fertigung könnte entweder im Tata-Werk Pune oder im Fiat-Werk
Ranjangaon eingerichtet werden. Tata könnte dort die SUV-Modelle Q501 und Q502

Airbag-Skandal drückt Honda-Gewinn
Der Airbag-Skandal wird für Honda noch teurer als bisher angenommen. Das
Unternehmen kündigte am 12. Juni an, in der Bilanz für das Geschäftsjahr
2014/15 wohl nachträglich zusätzliche Kosten in Höhe von umgerechnet 324
Millionen Euro verbuchen zu müssen. Ein Konzern-Sprecher erklärte, aufgrund von
US-Rechnungslegungsvorschriften müssten die Aufwendungen in das abgelaufene
Geschäftsjahr einfließen, das am 31. März endete. Noch in diesem Monat würden

Bundesregierung will E-Autos weiter fördern
Die Bundesregierung intensiviert ihre Bemühungen, den stockenden Ausbau der
Elektromobilität doch noch in Schwung zu bringen. Von 2016 bis 2018 werden 161
Millionen Euro in die Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellentechnologie fließen.
Darüber hinaus soll das Netz an Wasserstofftankstellen in den nächsten Jahren
ausgebaut werden. Eine Sprecherin des Verkehrsministeriums bestätigte eine
entsprechende Meldung der Tageszeitung "Die Welt". Mit einer Konferenz am 15.
und 16. Juni in Berlin, an der Kanzlerin Angela Merkel und Vizekanzler Sigmar
Gabriel teilnehmen sollen, will die Regierung die Entwicklung vorantreiben.

Die europäischen Autohersteller fürchten bei aus ihrer Perspektive zu strengen
Vorgaben für die Emissionen des Treibhausgases Kohlendioxid (CO2) um ihre
Wettbewerbsfähigkeit. Übermäßig ehrgeizige Ziele könnten Nachteile für die
europäische Industrie im globalen Vergleich ohne entsprechende Vorteile
schaffen, warnte der Präsident des Verbandes ACEA, Carlos Ghosn. Keine andere
Branche haben in den zurückliegenden Jahren so viel für die Senkung des

Media report: Winterkorn wants four brand groups
German daily "Handelsblatt" reported that Volkswagen Group is facing a massive
restructuring. CEO Martin Winterkorn wants to integrate the group's twelve
brands in four groups, the paper said: Audi with Lamborghini and Ducati, VW
Passenger Cars with Skoda and Seat, Scania with MAN and VW Commercial Vehicles,
and Porsche with Bugatti and Bentley. The brands are also set to be more
independent of the central office and to decide, for instance, which cars they

General Motors will re-enter the U.S. medium-duty truck market next year with

jointly developed trucks such as the Chevy Colorado pickup, sold as the

Tata and Fiat-Chrysler consider joint SUV production
Fiat Chrysler and Tata Motors are obviously mulling a joint SUV production in
India. Indian newspaper "Economic Times" reported that the two automakers plan
to invest 470 million dollars in a production line with a capacity of 100,000
units per year. The joint manufacturing could be established either in Tata's
Pune facility or Fiat's Ranjangaon plant. Tata could use it to produce its Q501
and Q502 SUV models, while Fiat could make Jeep models.

Airbag scandal weigh's on Honda profits
The airbag scandal is poised to become even more expensive for Honda than
previously thought. The company announced on June 12 that it will probably have
to book additional costs of 324 million euros retroactively in its balance
sheet for fiscal year 2014/15. A company spokesperson explained that these
expenditures still need to be included in the past fiscal year ended March 31
due to U.S. accounting rules. The exact figures are set to be published before
