BMW bringt Verkehrs-App heraus
BMW hat eine neue App herausgebracht, die Autobesitzern die beste Startzeit
meldet, um gut durch den Verkehr zu kommen. Echtzeit-Abfahrtswarnungen an das
Smartphone des Fahrers sind Teil der Smartphone-App "BMW Connected", die vor
kurzem in den USA lanciert wurde. Das System, das auf der
Cloud-Computing-Plattform Azure von Microsoft basiert, bezieht Verkehrsdaten
von verschiedenen Quellen, wie der Autobauer mitteilte. Das Unternehmen will
die Technologie im späteren Jahresverlauf auch in anderen Märkten einführen.

LG Display liefert Autodisplays für Tesla Model 3
LG Display wird Informationsanzeigen für Teslas neue Model 3-Limousinen

Auftrag ist ein Erfolg für LG Display, da das Unternehmen weiter im Bereich

Mehr Aufträge für Maschinenbauer - aber keine Aufbruchsstimmung
Deutsche Maschinenbauer konnten im Februar sieben Prozent mehr Bestellungen
verbuchen als im Vorjahresmonat, wie der Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und
Anlagenbau (VDMA) am 4. April erklärte. Die Aufträge aus dem Inland stiegen
deutlich um zwölf Prozent, während das Auslandsgeschäft um fünf Prozent anzog.
So konnte das Minus von real zwölf Prozent im Januar zwar teilweise kompensiert
werden, eine Aufbruchstimmung lasse sich daraus jedoch nicht ableiten, warnte

Kärcher weist Rekordumsatz aus
Die Geschäfte bei Kärcher laufen weiterhin gut. Wie der Reinigungsspezialist am
1. April mitteilte, sind die Erlöse im vergangenen Jahr um 5,1 Prozent auf 2,22
Milliarden Euro gestiegen. Angaben zum Gewinn machte das Familienunternehmen

Honeywell hat die Übernahme von Xtralis, einem global tätigen Hersteller von

BMW launches app to help customers beat the traffic
BMW has launched a new app that tells car owners the best time to leave in
order to beat traffic. Real-time departure alerts sent to the driver's
smartphone are part of the BMW Connected mobile application recently introduced
in the U.S. The system, based on Microsoft's Azure cloud-computing platform,
will tap into a range of sources for traffic data, the automaker said in a
statement, adding that it plans to roll out the technology in other markets

LG Display to supply car displays for Tesla Model 3
LG Display will supply information displays for Tesla's new Model 3 sedans, a
person with direct knowledge of the matter revealed. The order is a feather in

More orders for engineering companies - but no reason for excessive optimism
Mechanical engineering companies in Germany received seven percent more new
orders in February than in the same period a year earlier, industry association
VDMA announced on April 4. Domestic orders increased by a considerable 12
percent, while foreign orders were up five percent. While this partly offset
the real decline of 12 percent in January, the result is no reason for

Kärcher posts record revenues
Business continues to go well at Kärcher. In the past year, revenues rose 5.1
percent to 2.22 billion euros, the cleaning specialist announced on April 1.

Honeywell has completed its acquisition of Xtralis, a global provider of
aspirating smoke detection, advanced perimeter security technologies and video
