As of today, we're officially a corporation in the state of Kansas and = have the FEIN (a social security number for businesses)...so now I can = open a bank account. Which is good since I've already received the = first membership fees for next year and the KSU ACS local section has = offered to help us out with some seed money for the first newsletter and = the webpage hosting service, etc. (I'm still waiting to hear back from = the other ACS local sections)...we're moving right along for a good = start next fall. I've added to the "Teachers Resources--Useful Links" page of the = website...I went through the 2005 J Chem Ed's and Science Teachers and = referenced any articles that are of interest to HS chem teachers...I'll = keep working my way backwards through their archives as I get time. Some people mentioned a lifetime memership option. Some suggested 10 = years worth of fees (which would make it $150) and KABT uses 20 years = worth of fees (which would make it $300)...how about making it $200 = (13.3 years worth)? Some suggested $50 for lifetime retired...I think = that sounds appropriate to me. If you have any of the following, please let me know: --Good idea for a cool KACT logo --Activities/labs/demos for the first newsletter --Annoucements or opportunities of interest for the website or first = newsletter Thanks for all the feedback so far & I'm glad others are excited! :) Kelly Deters detersk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx *************************************************** Replying to this email will send it to the entire group--use individual email addresses if you wish to direct a response to individual members.
