Hello Educators,

Coming next week on NOVA are the first two installments in the special
mini-series, "The Elegant Universe." The first hour, "Einstein's Dream,"
introduces string theory and Albert Einstein's dream of unifying the
forces that underlie all phenonomena in the physical universe. (Subjects
covered: mathematics, physics, atomic theory, energy, properties of matter)

The second hour of the series, "String's the Thing," explores the evolution
and features of string theory. (Subjects covered: mathematics, physics,
atomic theory, energy, properties of matter)

NOVA has teamed up with New York animation artist Odd Todd to capture the
underlying humor of string theory. You can use this two-minute clip to
introduce students to some of the questions string theory may answer.
