CAMP DAVID, MARYLAND, TFR TO START EARLIER ON FRIDAY AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Camp David, Maryland, that the presidential retreat, Prohibited Area P-40, will now expand at 2:30 p.m. local today (Friday, June 6). It will still remain expanded until 1 p.m. local on Sunday, June 8. View a graphical depiction of the TFR ( http://www.aopa.org/images/whatsnew/newsitems/2008/notams/8-3040.gif ). Pilots flying into AOPA's Fly-In and Open House this weekend should use extra care because this brings P-40 close to AOPA headquarters at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK). Study the fly-in procedures ( http://www.aopa.org/special/fly-in/procedures.html ). See the notam and AOPA's plain-language explanation for TFR details ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#8/0859 ). Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight. TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land. ==> HELPFUL WEB LINKS <== AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner provides graphical depictions of TFRs ( http://www.aopa.org/flight_planner/ ).
