A few months ago, there was a thread on here about Customer Service work
for Juno "possibly" being done in India.
Last night on the ABC Nightly News there was a story about how a lot of
companies are shifting their customer service centers to India. The
story showed how they go through training to sound "American" and learn
words (the story showed a guy explaining to them the meaning of the word
Wack). They also watch American TV and movies to keep up with pop
culture (it showed them watching a Chris Rock stand up routine). The
story was mainly about a AZ based bank that has their customer service
reps in India.
I don't mean to reopen the thread of whether Juno (now United) does or
does not do their customer service work from India. I just thought I
would pass this along as something of interest. So the next time you
call CS for anything, chances are getting greater and greater that you
may be talking to somebody half a world away.
