I think the take home message is one should run AdAware for information
after installing such things, but should *not* allow AdAware to do the
removal. Use the using the standard Add/Remove Software feature in
Control Panel. 

I pity the newbie who downloads such things, unaware of how to proceed.
Old hands may be able to deal with this, knowing it might happen. That it
happens, at all, sucks [so to speak], but what else is new...
