GerryI think that the idea of the cable, is to get your Kindle displaying on a TV screen. HDMI on a computor is normally an out connection. What you are probably looking for is a kindle to USB connection to the laptop. This would be an input connection.
I could of course be wrong, but that is my thinking. Frank----- Original Message ----- From: "Gerry Winskill" <gwinsk@xxxxxxx>

I've just received a cable that allowes me to connect my Kindle Fire to a normal HDMI socket. When I check around, the only device I have to which I can connect the Fire is my laptop.Having connected to the laptop, and looked at My Computer on it, there's nothing to indicate that the Fire is connected. I want to be able to look at the Fire's FlightRadar24 display, or BBC iPlayer on the laptop monitor. Any advice on how to get there please?Gerry Winskill
