I have had the same problem with FSX to the point of flying only FS9,till I
find a setup that is more stable.
PS I have the same with FS9 but have been able to recover, as bones has
witnessed.
Looking forward to build my new computer soon.

About three-quarters of the way through a 2-hour IVAO flight from ENBR -
EFKU (World Tour leg 9), IVAO crashed on me. As I tried to recover it,
FSC then crashed and finally FSX itself. I restarted FSX and resumed
the flight using autosave, then IVAO and FSC. Everything seemed OK until
I realised that the autopilot was jammed on and I could not adjust any
settings - hdg, alt, speed. I was sitting trying to figure out whether
there was anything I could do when, with the A/P jammed, the aircraft
went into a steep dive all by itself. Controls would not respond at
all. Net result - one aborted mission, two hours wasted, one very angry
JHB pilot.?
