I've just done a search and, apparently, the canned air can be a bit iffy, since some comes with propellant that can finish up on the sensor screen. So, I've ordered a Giotto's Rocket instead. Over the internet of course. I believe in shopping locally, if I have the stamina.

I asked Banana Computers, based in Ramsey, for a quote. A week later and they haven't bothered to reply. I'm expecting one from PC Specialists by the end of the week.

I do hope the Ramsey firm reply, so that I can tell them where to put their banana!

Some people advocate carefully cleaning the sensor but others recoil in

compressed air sold by photo shops - just use extreme care.

There are many threads on this in the various aviation forums.

Subject: [jhb] DSLR Clean

My D80 has had a slight blur, about 10 o'clock, on images, for some time. It's noticeable only on shots with clear grey sky in that area. It has the appearance of a small droplet, so I don't think it's a dodgy pixel.

So, does anyone clean his own sensor filter, or is it best left to a camera shop?
