Some people advocate carefully cleaning the sensor but others recoil in
horror that they even suggest it. It's probably entirely safe using a can of
compressed air sold by photo shops - just use extreme care.

There are many threads on this in the various aviation forums.

Subject: [jhb] DSLR Clean

My D80 has had a slight blur, about 10 o'clock, on images, for some
time. It's noticeable only on shots with clear grey sky in that area. It
has the appearance of a small droplet, so I don't think it's a dodgy pixel.

So, does anyone clean his own sensor filter, or is it best left to a
camera shop?
