Thanks for that info though I just worked it out with a mate I was chatting to on messenger. I found out that the words look, cook and book for example was setting off the modacom for ok and everytime I typed those words all I'd hear would be lo, co and bo etc though the person I sent it too was seeing lo as well as the ok flashing modacom, so all I did thru his help was remove ok from mymodacoms list and now I'm fine. Weird thing hey? Anyway thanks for any help on thios topic Cheers, Jim -----Original Message-----From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf OfChristopher Hallsworth Sent: Friday, 27 July 2007 6:41 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: windows live messenger Because they're user-specific files, JAWS will not automatically create them, however it will use the copy found in the shared settings folder (c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\freedom scientific\jaws\<version>\settings\enu), where <version> is the version number, such as 8.0, and enu is the language of JAWS. Hope that helps. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Sent: 26 July 2007 23:08 To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: windows live messengerand how do I find these files and is it just safe to delete them? Does Jawsautomatically create a new default.jdf? Remove any jdf files from your own personal user folder backing them up somewhere and see if this solves the problem. The two jdf files you are going to be interested in are default.jdf and msn messenger.jdf Hth From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 1:58 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: windows live messenger Hiya list, Whenever I type look, book, cook etc when chatting to friends in live messenger it doesn't pronounce my words correctly either in input area orwhen I finally send the message, all I get is lo, bo, co etc as referring tothose 3 words above.
