okay, that worked. I had to do insert-f7, and then alt-m, I couldn't just be on it with my arrows. I was routing JAWS to virtual pc hoping to be on the e of enter and then left-clicking.

Were you arrowing down the page? Try tabbing. Or try bringing up your links
list and the first link should be:
Enter EmilyJordan.com.
Press alt M to move to the link from your links list.
Then try to route jaws to virtual pc cursor.
But you know I'm wondering the site does say that the system requirements
are to have both flash and quicktime installed. I have both of them
installed. I don't know if they are both required to find that link, or
just in general for things on the website.
But see if you can find the link in your links list.
Debbie

where did you route your JAWS to virtual pc? because I don't see the enter link when I do that. I'm seeing e-mail address, and then the menu bar for IE.

As far as the sharing problem, Patricia do you use windows XP home or Pro?
If you have pro, you can go to the properties and there you will find a
security tab that allows you to share folders on the network. If you have
windows XP home, the security tab doesn't show unless you boot up in safe
mode. Whenever I reformat, I always have Tom set the permissions for me
so
I can get to my main computer if I'm another computer and so he can get
to
my computer if he needs to.
I did find this interesting article on the website that says there is a
work
around so you don't have to do it in safe mode, but I have never tried it.
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_security_tab.htm
As far as those two websites.
On http://www.emilyjordan.com/# website, I couldn't get the enter site
to
work unless I routed the jaws cursor to the virtual pc cursor and left
clicked. The site is using JavaScript and flash, so I'm sure that has
something to do with why enter doesn't work.
On http://www.gemeinhardt.com/, for the image map links, they said they
were
mouse over links, so I pressed insert control enter, and jaws said the
content had changed at line 2. So I pressed J and typed in 2. Jaws moved
there and I could arrow up and down between the links that the mouse over
brought up. But they were mouse over links too! So again I had to press
insert control enter. It again said the content had changed at line 2.
So
I again did j and typed in 2. Now this time I could up and down arrow the
links and just press enter and it took me to the page. Although there
were
a few that it said the page couldn't be found.
I hope this site is worth it, grin. Although one link I tried did bring
up
some music and I enjoyed what I heard, smile.

Hi Patricia, I'll try to answer your questions after you ask them, so it's clear and hopefully, helpful. you asked:

At 11:43 AM 6/13/2006, you wrote:
will I need to uninstall JAWS 7 on my desktop and then re-install it
to see the two remaining upgrades?

Nope. All that is in the FS database for your serial number. You might see 2 different numbers of upgrades on 2 different systems, but if you know for absolute sure that you have 2 upgrades remaining then you don't have to worry. Actually, you shouldn't even need to worry about this at all, because JAWS 7.10 does not count against your SMA. It's a free update, so if you installed JAWS 7.10 on the same computers you have JAWS 7 on, you'd still have the same number of upgrades remaining. as for your murge question, I don't know much about sharing drives and networks, but i would think that if JAWS is installed on the network drive, which may or not be the c drive, everything should work. but different systems means all kinds of situations so it's impossible to say.

and now for something completely different, websites. JAWS does
*not* seem to like this website http://www.emilyjordan.com/# nor the
Gemeinhardt site www.gemeinhardt.com. I'm not sure why, it's the
same old "this page links" with on-mouse-overs that JAWS sees nearly
every day. why is it that I cannot do enter on these links? I've
actually had this problem with a couple of other sites as well.

It sounds like JAWS's virtual buffer just isn't seeing those links as links. they are links but JAWS seems to think that you can't click them. Hmmm.

That's all I can say at the moment.
