Claudia,

The only way I found that can disable completely the touchpad and its
buttons is to have someone do this in your BIOS settings.

Other than that, I used to glue a piece of index card, cut to shape, over
the touchpad area.

On my Dell, there's also a touchstick between the "G" and "H" buttons that
also caused me pain. The Control Panel would only allow me to disable either
the touchpad or the touchstick, but not both. Only solution for me was to do
it in the BIOS.

Now, no one can use my laptop if they need a touchpad/stick, unless they
attach an external one.

Dave

Subject: unmuting Sound & Disabling the Touch Pad?

Hello,

I have a Toshiba laptop with JFW, and lately, I end up indadvertently muting
my
speakers, via the touchpad.
Is there a way to move the volume icon or disable the touchpad, so this
doesn't happen to me constantly?
Thanks.

I know how to go to run and type in
sndvol32
but, that doesn't always work because, I am never quite sure where I end up,
in the list of check boxes.

Thanks.
