Your procedures for turning language and dialect detection off in Jaws
solved my problem with the document I was trying to read through last week.
... It sure takes you by surprise when, suddenly, Jaws starts reading in
French rather than English! (smile)

Sure.
1. Press JAWS key plus 6 on the number row to get to the configuration
dialog. Then press control+shift+d to be sure you are in the default
configuration, which will ensure that the changes you make are
universal. If you only want the change made to your current application,
then skip this last keystroke.
2. Press alt+s for the settings menu. Arrow down until you get to text
processing. Press enter on it.
3. Tab until you get to "detect languages. Press spacebar to uncheck
this.
4. Tab once more, you'll be in an option about dialect. Press spacebar
to uncheck this, too.
5. Press enter to OK this dialog.
6. Press alt+F4 to exit, and choose yes when asked if you want to save
changes.
That should do it for you. Hope this helps.
