total recorder is recording jaws and not my program

Does anyone know of a fix so I can use jaws while recording with t.r.?
I have t.r. set to use preferred driver (and not t.r.'s) when total recorder
is shut down, and I'm setting timer right and everything but it's recording
my Jaws stuff and other computer sounds like the clock. Is there a fix for
this or a good jaws tutorial on this program?
