Hi,
would the below line be correct? As I don't think it was FS at 4.01
HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Freedom Scientific/JAWS/4.01.
 Max.

Hal,
You're probably right, you've probably got a leftover registry key from 4.01 that wasn't deleted in the past. You can go to:
HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Freedom Scientific/JAWS/4.01.
then if you find that key go ahead and delete it. It shouldn't have any adverse effects, but you could back up the registry or go back to a System restore point if you have any problems.
The installer first looks in the registry for Jaws versions, if it doesn't find them there it would then look for the folder:
C:\JAWS401

Good luck,
Dean

Subject: still have parts of jfw 4.01 on system

Hi to all on list,

The other day I had to re-install the scripts for ad-aware using the special
self-installer and I found something strange. This installer is great
because it detects all versions of jfw on your system. After I chose the
radio button to accept the license agreement and activated the next button,
I get to the group of radio buttons for all versions of jfw, there are three
of those and I only have Jaws 6.2 and 7.1 on this machine. The third radio
button points to Jaws 4.01 but I no longer have that on my computer. I don't
even have a jfw 4.01 folder on my system anymore. I suspect there is an
entry in my registry and reg scrub didn't detect it. So just for fun I
selected the option to install the scripts into the Jaws 4.01 settings enu
folder knowing I was going to have a problem of some kind. Sure enough I got
the message saying: "Setup
No valid language folder exists for the JAWS version you selected. You must
select another JAWS version to
proceed." This makes perfect sense, since I don't have jfw 4.01 on my
computer. Is there any way I can get rid of this other than going into the
registry? The first thing that came to mind, was for me to download and
re-install Jaws 4.01 and remove it, but my understanding is that doing this
can effect video intercept or something close to that. I find this a bit
disconcerting and I just want to fix it. Other than that things are great!

Hal
