I enjoy and appreciate the stand by feature--my computer powers up in a much
shorter time than it does from the off mode.
Stand by doesn't work for me about 10 per cent of the time and when this
happens,
1. I up arrow to make sure I am highlighted as the user and press enter.
2. After I hear the Windows music I press the Windows key-m combination and
usually Jaws begins talking.
3. If Jaws still has not begun talking I launch it using my hot key and I
must say I have always been successful in this way in getting Jaws to speak
from the stand by mode using this method in the 10 per cent of the time that
Jaws does not launch on its own
