spell check and OE

When I spell check an email, spell check goes right into the suggestion box,
and I don't know what word it is making suggestions for. If I shift tab,
then I get the word I mess up, but how can I get it to go to the word I want
to fix first?
Running Jaws 6 pro and Windows XP Prow
