Hi, I have similar problem with Jaws going quiet. Any time I close IE Jaws goes quiet and only way to bring it back is reboot. I tried closing it with jaws key+f4 and then restarting it; Killing with kill command and then restarting but without any success. I am using jfw 7.0, windows xp-multimedia, ie 6.0 Any idea what is happening? JAWS will go silent and trying to remove it with jaws-key+f4 does not work. In this case; I have better luck using the JAWS dump command jaws_key+windows-key+f4. Wait a few seconds then reload JAWS and hopefully you will be where you were when JAWS clammed up. While on the internet, Jaws will sometimes go quiet on a web page. The only way I have found to get Jaws back to speaking is to close the web page. Trying to unload Jaws and reload does nothing. I just spent nearly an hour filling out a survey, and was nearly finished when Jaws shut up on me. I am not a happy camper. Has anyone else found a solution to get Jaws back without having to close the web page? Thanks.
