Hi Alice;

This is only a guess but, if you press the Jaws / insert key + V, for Jaws 
options, then press the letter " L ", until you land on  "Language Detect ", 
and this is off, press the spacebar to turn it on, and see if that helps.

Hi, all,
    This one has me completely stumped. I copied and pasted an opera
libretto in German into a wordpad document as a .txt file. I set the
language in JAWS to German as I've done a zillion times. But when I switched
to this document and tried to read it, JAWS read the German as though it
were English.
    Any idea what's going on?
