skim reading is indeed what you need.
Just go to the rule radio buttons, and select "colour and attribute", or
something similar.
You will be able to choose from various colour options, and there is a combo
box for text, and another for background colours.
You can even specify attributes marked as bold, underline, italics etc., using
the appropriate checkboxes.
