Hello,
While scanning with kurzweil, I have found that
letter with umlauts rarely are recognized
correctly. In particular, the u-umlaut wich comes
out as ii and I've always had to spellcheck for
words with ii and correct the words manually. HTH.
BI don't have any knowledge of scanning German
texts with any other Oother than Kurzweil verssion 9.

Hmm. If it's written in Faktur (gothic letters), it may create a
problem. Have you tried making sure the imported text is changed to a
font Jaws reads better? I had a book of Goethe's poems which I
scanned in with OpenBook and exported to a text file for reading with
Jaws. It did just fine. Sure there were some mistakes, what scanner
doesn't make them after all, but over all, it was sehr gut. I will
say that I had the font set to Times New Roman 10 point. That's my
default setting. Some scanning software tries to keep the font of the
original when it imports though, so, hence my suggestion.
Viel Glück
