Shai, please try ctrl + jaws key + f instead of ctrl + f. Here, teh jaws cursor
jumps in several different pdf-docs to the position I searched for. What is the
behaviour at your installation?

Dear Michael,
thanks for trying, but that didn't help. When I pressed control plus f,
typed the text that I wanted to find and pressed f6, I was placed at the
beginning of the document, and not on the page that had this text at all.

If I understand you correct, you search in ar by using ctrl + f > type
search text > press enter key > ...
Now, you schould try f6 and normally you should jump to the page where the
search criteria is found - if nothing could be found ar would give a dialog
box.
If that doesn't help, please tell us.
