Brandon,
That just means you have something other than Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on
your new laptop. Of course, it also means that you will have to pay more for
your next SMA. Something to look forward to!

Ahh thank you, I just know when I got my new windows 7 64 Bit computer I
needed Jaws Professional 64 Bit and had to upgrade for $200 from Jaws Regular
32 Bit.
  Thanks,

  Brandon,
You might want to review your JAWS specifications. I copied the following
from the FS web site:

JAWS 64-bit Standard can be used with 64-bit versions of Windows 7 Home
Premium, Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Home Basic.

JAWS 32-bit Standard can be used with 32-bit versions of Windows 7 Home
Premium, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Home Basic, and Windows XP
Home.

Therefore, you only need JAWS for Windows Professional if you are going to
use versions of Windows other than those mentioned above.

You need Jaws professional to work with 64 Bit as well as it is very nice
to have jaws 12 with windows 7.
    Hope this helps,

    Subject: new laptop and JAWS?

    Hi everyone,

Well, I'm on the verge of purchasing a new laptop. I need something faster
with a bit more power and definitely more memory.

Everything I see now has Windows 7 premium or home edition, which is fine.

However, my main concern is whether or not I need to be aware of anything
when purchasing the new computer.

Does the fact that it is 64 bit mean anything regarding JAWS? I will
probably also be getting Office 2010.

Will I have any real problems with JAWS and will there be some settings
I'll need to change or can I basically install JAWS and use it out of the box?

I need to definitely learn Windows 7 and Office 2010, so I figured since
I'm looking for a new laptop that it would be the perfect time.

Oh, are there any brands that work better than others?

    Thanks!

    Jim
