Hi chip

Thanks for the reassurance that the compatibility issues of yesterday are no
more.

No, we're going the desktop route. This is also a family computer. We have
kids who are into gaming and stuff, and it has to be for all of us, not just
me and Jaws. My lifestyle isn't one where I'd have to take it anywhere. I
also have a wonderful work opportunity pending once I upgrade, and it is all
contract work from home. The software I need to run has up until recently
been totally inaccessible, but the company has just redesigned it to be
Section 508 compliant. The bad thing for me, though, is that it runs only
under Windows 2000 or XP, so that's why I'm having to buy a new system.

By the way, when FTR Gold redesigned the Windows-based transcription
software I'm needing to use, they actually wrote Jaws scripts that get
installed automatically with the program. I don't know how they'll keep them
up to date, but it's a pretty neat approach by a company.

Jean
