RE: new computer buying

If you check with the list archives, you'll find for any given video
card or sound card that has one person complaining it doesn't work well,
you'll have 2 more who say it works fine for me.
FS does not publish a list of approved sound cards or video cards, and
it's precisely for this reason; the model alone isn't enough to predict
whether it will work well for you or not.
The best advice has already been given by someone else, by something
that you can return if it doesn't work well without any cost to you (IBM
for instance offers a 30-day full refund policy as well as free
shipping; if you ask for it on the phone by saying you're considering
other brands, they will also give you a 5% discount off of the quoted
price).
