another cause for less than instantanious babble is that the message is sending something somewhere. Often, when this happens, there is silence even if you try to move around in the message. I have found that waiting usually solves it but if I am really curious, I begin a reply or forward and then I can read the message. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Lange" <trlange@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2004 12:32 AM Subject: Re: jfw 5, html messages and arrow keys Hi, I've seen this behavior at times on my system with Windows ME, JFW 5.0 and OE 6. Although I'm usually inclined to just back out of the message and try to bring it up again, sometimes if I wait long enough it will begin to speak as it's supposed to, which leads me to believe that there may be some graphics being loaded or other stuff going on. A lot of spam that I get usually behaves that way, so I nuke it as quickly as possible; I don't have that much time to wait around to see if it's going to tell me about some new casino, a lower mortgage rate, how to shed pounds with some questionable pill, powder or potion, vi*a*gr*a or the latest and greatest way to enlarge my unit. If it doesn't respond quickly, it's in the bit bucket. End of story and nary a tear shed over the loss of useless content.
